Capturing the passing glance with intimate portraits of intriguing figures and depictions of captivating scenes, one might say a personal touch is evident in the charcoal and graphite drawings attributed to Jesse Wilson; a self taught portrait artist living and working out of northern Colorado. 

 

Without a doubt, NOCO has its advantages for creative types and Jesse’s been no exception. He was always able to find refuge in art class with like minded peers, but it wasn’t until his early adult years that he was really able to experiment and refine his original style under his own guidance and individuality. 

 

A series of works emerged in 2017 following tragedy and hardship in Jesse’s personal life. These portraits made manifest through raw emotion and artistic expression were unlike anything he had previously produced and each macabre figure seemed to take on a life of its own during their creative processes. 

 

Working on commission, Jesse presently finds inspiration in the meaning or purpose behind every piece; honoring the personal heroes and loved ones of those who reach out to him.
